We’re now 10 days into our new life as parents of our precious Ruby and just when we thought we couldn’t be more in love, we were able to watch a beautiful slideshow that captured the morning that changed our lives forever. Our daughter’s birth was a euphoric event of amazement, wide eyes and smiles and tears of joy. Your stunning photography reflects each emotion and every feeling we experienced and the images you’ve given us will be something we’ll always have to cherish this moment.
Your photo talent only parallels the incredible qualities of the human behind the camera. From the instant you entered the birth center for Ruby’s arrival, your positive energy, passion, professionalism and compassion kept us fully content and comfortable with sharing such a private event. It was like having an aunt or sister on hand who happens to be really good with a camera.
We thank you for the respect you showed us, our baby and our midwife and doula. We thank you for your tenderness, encouragement and genuine helpfulness after the big moment and throughout the rest of the morning. We thank you for the warm hat you personally made for our newborn child to wear when she finally arrived. We thank you for your commitment to such a meaningful mission: showcasing the talents of midwives and doulas. You will always have our gratitude and love! I had birth photography done by JoAnn after having several of my clients rave about her. They were point on! Mainly I wanted my husband to be able to enjoy the moment of our child being born and not be consumed with trying to take pictures. But JoAnn provided so much more! She came to my house while I was in labor and helped massage my back, made suggestions to help relieve the pain, and called the Midwife for me when I was unable to talk through the contractions. She did all this, meanwhile I hardly noticed she was there. It was so comfortable to have her around, and though I felt bad for calling her early in the process - she always had a smile and convinced me she was happy to be there.
I was in such a haze by the end of my labor that I barely remember seeing my daughter for the first time. JoAnn was able to capture the joy on camera of the entire labor and birth - make it look like a wonderful experience instead of remembering the pain. The slideshow brought family and friends (and myself) to tears - it is beautiful to have and I will cherish it forever!
Not to mention she is the baby whisperer and was able to calm our daughter down for adorable newborn photos at 2 weeks old!

Dear Joann,
Words cannot describe how thankful Ed and I are to you for photographing the birth of our daughter Carly. Through your lens you captured and told the beautiful birth story of our baby girl. You manage to photograph every emotion throughout the entire labor and delivery, and we couldn't be more grateful to have such intimate moments documented. You gave your heart, support, thoughtfullness and kindness above all.
I look forward to sharing the pictures and video with Carly when she is older and can't help but think how cool it will be for her to see the beginning of her life story, her entrance into the world and how she was welcomed into our home and our lives, surrounded by people who love her, and in such a beautiful way, a peaceful way.

My experience with Joann from Labor to Love was nothing short of amazing! Before being chosen to participate in her annual rainbow baby shoot this year, I followed her work and couldn't believe how creative and unique her photography was. I came across her viral rainbow baby shoot from last year and immediately fell in love. It was even more amazing and an honor for me to work with her during this year's rainbow baby shoot. From the first time we made contact, I can tell how much Joann genuinely enjoyed her craft. From the moment we walked in, Joanne made us feel so comfortable and relaxed. She is so flexible and has a great "go with the flow" attitude that put both me and my baby at ease. When my son was 10 weeks old Joann took his pictures and even took extra time because he was so good and stayed sleeping. Today 9 months later I have a huge canvas photo on my wall. Everyone comments on how beautiful it is. Joann has a huge heart, an awesome sense of humor, and some INSANE talent! JoAnn is amazing and I am so happy we found her. We got the belly, birth, and baby package and it was a great decision. JoAnn made us feel very comfortable and at ease during our belly session and got really great shots. During our birth she was the best we could have asked for. We booked JoAnn for our newborn photos and she was amazing! Not only do you get wonderful photos that you will treasure of your little one forever, but you will be able to hand off your baby to her and relax with a cup of coffee and just watch her do her magic. The day we had our daughters pictures taken she was six days old and I had been struggling with breastfeeding and her latch. JoAnn had such a comfortable studio that I was able to take my time to feed her and not feel rushed or inconvenient. She works around you and your baby. She loves what she does and you can really tell. She is worth the money and I would hire her again when we have another little one.

We met with Joann shortly before our home birth. She made it feel like we've known each other for years, not hours. She is a very up-beat, energetic, friendly person. I’ve had the utmost pleasure of knowing JoAnn when our paths crossed in the equine world...My son was 6 yrs old at the time and she took some amazing photos of him with his horse. Here we are 11 yrs later and I am so glad I called upon her to take his senior pictures!

JoAnn did a newborn session for our daughter in May and we are over the moon with the results. I cannot say enough wonderful things about JoAnn. From our first phone conversation I knew that she was the perfect person to capture my birth. I immediately felt at ease with her. When she arrived at our home the morning of my c section I was very anxious about surgery and having her around was actually very calming. Where do I even start.... JoAnn is such an amazing and talented person and photographer. I met her on the day of my son's birth and I immediately felt like she was an old, close friend! I never noticed her taking photos while I was in labor/giving birth, what I did notice is how she comforted me, went and got my husband coffee, fed me water, and helped me through my labor. The baby is only 6 months old and I already find myself looking at the photos and the video frequently. I can't wait to share these photos with the kids once they are older. I did a breastfeeding mini session this past weekend and JoAnn and her family were amazing to work with! I've seen a sneak peek so far and can't wait to see the others! Breastfeeding has been the absolute hardest challenge I've had to face in life. Labor and delivery was beautiful, natural and painless, but bf has been a struggle for sure. It's been worth every tear and ounce of love I can offer my daughter though, and it's moments captured like these that encourage me to continue this journey for her and this bond between us. Our birth story was a crazy one! At 45 we found out I was expecting, 24 yrs earlier with my daughter, there was so much focus on getting a good pic, i felt like my birth coaches lost out on enjoying the moment. I found Joanne, after a long and thoughtful search on the perfect person to share this long awaited miracle. Birth plans don't always go as expected, and mine went five weeks early with an emergency C-section( the day of my maternity photo shoot). Joanne was there for every moment! Captured the things I missed & the moments that my daughter & husband shared with our Peter. I Lost something that day in those moments of being rushed into a C-section, in those first moments after birth with my child, I got them back when I saw the pictures of the moments that JoAnn had captured. From the moment some women get pregnant we get so excited that we immediately go on Pinterest, make our secret board and start looking up ideas to announce our pregnancy to friends and family, then we look up ways to announce the gender, and finally we see tons of ideas for maternity photos. Well for me I was so excited about our pregnancy announcement, even more excited about the gender reveal, but when it came to maternity photos I just thought they weren't for me. Maternity photos were for other women who just looked so beautiful being pregnant. I never really felt like one of those beautiful pregnant women until today. JoAnne made me feel like the most beautiful person in the world today which isn't the easiest feelings for someone who is 39 weeks to feel. Thank you so much for taking these photos for me. It takes a special talent to capture a photo that will leave an imprint in your heart & mind for all time...JoAnn has that gift, I'm not quite sure how she does it, but she never fails to amaze me with her talent. She has captured photo's that are very near & dear to me from my four-legged friends (horses) to my children & most recently my grandbabies! Where to start!?! JoAnn gave us the greatest treasure trove of memories in a breastfeeding photo session. Let me just say she is nothing short of amazing! Her talent and artistic eye speak for itself in her photos. This woman is a baby godsend and the baby whisper. She is amazing at what she does! And her talent is beyond words! I am very grateful to be able to capture all of my baby's milestones so beautifully! I would highly recommend her!!!!

I had the pleasure of having my daughter's picture taken today and I enjoyed every minute of it! JoAnn is great and knows what she is doing! I had such a amazing experience working with Joann for my maternity shoot, I couldn't of been more relaxed and excited at the same time. She has a natural talent that radiates all over her, my husband and I are glad to share this experience with Joann and our first born.

Just got done doing a breastfeeding mini session and it was amazing! I was super nervous but JoAnn makes you feel so comfortable and great about yourself! She seriously is amazing! I can't wait to use her again in the future!

In maternity shoots she made me feel so comfortable, during labor she helped so much I didn't remember her taking any pictures, yet I have so many plus the most heartwarming video ever and for newborn shoots she was the baby whisperer. I'm forever grateful for Joann! I wish I would of found her to do my oldest pictures but I'm glad I have her now! She has helped me capture memories that will be cherished for years! She is very passionate and loves her work. Her sister,assistant along with her would do everything to capture the perfect picture! What can I say? She's the best, she took adorable pics of my baby, she made such a beautiful vid of my birth, she later spent a few hours after I gave birth to take a family pic even after being with us 24 hours. Truly amazing
